citizenship for daughter

Post Sat Jan 16, 2010 7:18 pm

im a dual citizen of canada and uk and married to a uk citizen, weve been living here for the past year and have a 4 month old daughter. Our plans are to move back to Canada in a few years and was wondering what exactly should i be doing now so i can have my daughter with dual citizenship by the time we move back. Were going back for 3 weeks in april so also wondering if its better to get things done over there. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Getting her citizenship card will take several months to get her citizenship card, after which you can apply for passport, be it from UK or Canada. Since you are planning to move back more than a year from now, I would start the process for getting cit card now.

Nothing can be doen while in canada to speed up process.
