Collecting Social Security payments

Post Sat May 01, 2010 8:41 am

I worked in the US for about 12 years on TN visa. What happens to the Social Security benefits that I accumulated during those years? Is there any way for me to collect the Social Security payments or is that only for US citizens and green card holders?

You will get SS benefits paid to you at retirement. As you approach that age, you will contact SSA in US and they will take care of sending it to you.

Keep the last SS statement you recieved when you were in US.
