As long as you keep your Ontario residence and spend more than 153 days inside Ontario in any rolling 12-month period, your OHIP remains valid. This is less than othe provinces require.

So you can spend upto 212 days outside Ontario in any 12-month period and still be covered -- as long as you maintain a residence in Ontario.

"You may be out of the province for up to 212 days in any 12-month period and still maintain your Ontario health insurance coverage provided that you continue to make Ontario your primary place of residence"
