Company sponsoring H1B visas

Can someone who is bi-lingual in English and French, with a BComm, 4+ yrs of experience in accounts payable, be sponsored by an employer for a senior accounts payable specialist position, without holding a Major in Accounting? Your insights would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it is possible for H1B Status as the positions are often specialty occupations requiring that the candidate hold a Bachelor's level degree and not necessarily a specific degree.

There is an alternative way of qualifying for an H1B in lieu of the degree. The general rule of thumb is the replacement of 3 years of work experience for each missing year of the degree. Thus to qualify without a degree at all, one requires 12 years of work experience, preferably in the field.

Thus it is possible but you are unfortunately short on work experience with only 4 years so this alternative route will not apply to you.
