Conditions of Youth Mobility Scheme

Postby Want2TeachInTheUK09 » Thu Feb 05, 2009 5:09 pm

Hello,

Does anyone know how soon you are expected to go to the UK once you are granted your visa under the new YMS? Within how many months? Can I stay in Canada for the 1st year and then leave for the UK in the 2nd year?

I just turned 30 and I'm planning to apply for this visa in the summer as I'm hoping to teach in the UK from Sept 1/2010-Aug 31/2011. I figure that if I apply August 2009 and I'm granted the 2-year visa, I can leave Canada in July 2010 before I begin to work in the UK.

Any information would be most helpful!

Thanks!

If I remember correctly, you only have 3 months in which to get into the UK when you get your visa. You may want to check the UK Boarder Agency for more info.

I checked now, and didn't see anything, but I DO remember reading here something about having a limited time to get in.

Anybody in the know?
