Hello,
I have been doing a lot of research about this but still am confused...what a complicated process..
My husband is an American citizen and I am Canadian. We were married this past August in Canada (so less than 2 years). He has been a permanent resident of Canada for a little over a year.
We want to spend some time in the USA (however, we are unsure if we want to stay temporarily or permanently). I am looking into Visas for the USA so we can go there and live and I can work. From what I have read, we will likely need to file and I-130 and then I can apply for a CR1? Do I have to apply for a CR1 or is the I-130 enough?
We are living in Calgary, Alberta, is it a wise choice to to a DCF or should we mail it?
I am finding so much information and it is really hard to sort through everything. Any advice would help.
Thank you so much!
Meghan

check out visajourney.com! AND the Canada forum. Lots of talk on the DCF there and the troubles people have had with the DCF process!!
If ya need to work right away, CR-1 is the way to go! Can't work right away with the k3! Your only benefit of going the k3 route is that you would have the K3 interview in VAncouver, and vancouver tends to be a faster consulate than Montreal! ALL cr-1 got Montreal!!! But Mtl as of late has picked upthe pace a bit--just hard to see if they wil maintain it or not!!
But if ya need to work right away, CR-1 is the way to go! Much better visa and cost less!!
