Contributions to pension scheme (x-posted)

Post Sat May 08, 2004 6:43 am

If I contribute to the governemnt pension scheme while I am in England, I am ever eligible for that money if I only stay for a few years?

I also contributed to social security when I lived/worked in the states for 5 years. Do I ever get any of that back?

Hi, I started working for the Borough of Lewisham in London, six months ago. I pay into a pension and have been told that I must work for two full years before being able to apply for my pension (as per pension guidelines). I kinda of think it will be fun to get an pension cheque from England every month, should bring back a few more memories in my (ahem!)....senior years.

Can't help you out with the rest of your questions, but check it out...........
