Converting to Tier 1 visa from Tier 2 (Intra company)

Post Mon Jan 10, 2011 7:02 am

Hi there -
I'm currently in the UK with a Tier 2 Intra Company transfer. I would like to apply for Tier 1 in a few weeks time as I would like to look for another job. From what I've gathered (points calculator, etc.), it looks like I have the qualifications and will just need to gather paper work to apply. Just wanted to ask people in the forum what their experience has been with this? Specifically:

1) Is it easy enough to apply for a Tier 1 within the UK on my own or is it better to get professional assistance?

2) I have 11 months of pay stubs with my current employer and then 1 month's worth with my previous. Will that suffice for the 12 month period?

Thanks so much in advance for your help -
Ana

If you're sure you qualify and meet all the requirements, applying by yourself should be fine. Just make sure that you read the guidance carefully as there are a lot of supporting documents to submit and if you don't submit all of them, your application could be denied.

As for your second question, you have to submit payslips covering the 12 months earnings period you are claiming. This period can be made of any consecutive 12 months in the last 15 months.

Good luck!
