cost of living in Oman?

I was wondering what the cost of housing, vehicles, food, etc. is in Oman currently. If anyone could give me a ballpark figure I'd really appreciate it. We have an opportunity to relocate to Muscat from Canada, but I am wondering what cost of living is like .

I'm also negotiating/considering a position in Oman. While searching for info on Google, I came across your question. Don't know if you're already there, or what --- but I also stumbled across this website:

It's not laid out very clearly, it's about 6 years out-of-date, and you've got to convert to US dollars and then to Canadian.
