Could i get a canadian/british passport????

please could anyone with the knowledge please let me know if im elegible for a dual passport... i have a grandad who lives in Vancouver and has lived there since about 1960. He is obvioulsy a citizen and i was born in the UK. is this enough for me to be able to get the dual passport....?????

However I doubt it, one of your parents can probably claim Canadian citizenship but if they don't live in Canada I think it's going to be tricky for them to sponsor you for LPR status.

Just because he's lived in Canada for that long doesn't necessarily mean he's a Canadian citizen. My Dad lived in Canada for 50 years before he bothered to apply for citizenship. And then he only did so he'd be eligible for welfare :roll:

However, as Steven said, derivative citizenship is only thru parents, not grandparents, so unless one or both of your parents are citizens, you are not eligible.
