CPP and OAS applied to SS windfall elimination Provision

One quick question . Do I have to declare and apply both Canadian pensions when calculating the windfall provision?

CPP yes, Private Cdn pensions, yes.
OAS, no. RRSP, no.

You don't calculate WEP, you inform SSA of the work you've done outside US, and they calculate.

Thanks for the info. I was referring to the calculation from the downloaded calculator available on line. Another side to this is will my Canadian pensions be affected once I start collecting SS???

The pensions themselves should not, however the foreign work, if not already counted in your CPP time will. SSA is looking for foreign WORK doen, not only foreign pension-like income.

Don't you first need to know your SS before you calculate WEP?

Point me to the claculator and I'll se if it is legit for cross-border workers.

I used it and it was accurate within $5.00 from what the SS told me.

CPP is never affected by any other pensions. However your OAS may be clawed back if you make too mauch every year and you live in canada.
