Credentail Evaluation for TN

Post Tue Jul 12, 2011 5:05 pm

I have a job offer from a major US company for "software engineering" position. I have earned master's and phd in "Electrical and Computer Engineering" from canadian universities. But my bachelor's degree, which is in "Computer Science and Engineering" is from outside North America.
My question is whether I need to get credential evaluation for my bachelor's degree to show at the border? or the fact that I will carry proof of my canadian master's and phd degree will be sufficient?
unfortunately, i'm short in time as my start date is near and i might not have enough time before that to do the evaluation for my bachelor's, if needed.
thanks for your time.

You should ask for an eval on your foreign degree, even if only for future immigration use. But I would not delay in going to border simply on that basis. Being denied for a TN while waiting for the eval is not fatal, and you should get by on your advanced degrees

For TN purposes, foreign degrees (non-canada,US, mexico) are subject to evaluation.

The fact that it is in English merely means it does not need to be translated, but it should be eval'ed.

Was my original answer in this thread somehow unclear?

You need to evaluate both. It doesn't cost extra.
