My sisters in the process of moving to the USA from Canada and has a lot of credit card debt due to her divorce. Once she gets all her duck in a line and gets her green card, can the credit card companies do anything to her.

Do anything for her in terms of what?

She can make arrangements with the credit card companies for a repayment plan or consult with a debt counsellor and have them do it for her.
