Croatia and Greece questions

We are a family hoping to spend a couple of weeks in Croatia and/or Greece in August. Any recommendations for a villa in Croatia? We're hoping for seaside. We will be coming from Prague. Any comments on the best means of travel between Prague and Split or Zagreb?
Is it possible to travel by ferry from Dubrovnik to, say, Patras?

I almost forgot if you are looking for a smaller place to go try MAKARSKA
