Deduction of CDN mortgage interest

Postby gnyc » Tue Mar 31, 2009 8:18 am

Hello,

I've done a bit of searching and can't find an answer. I am working in the States on a TN visa. I rent an apartment here but own a home in Canada. I've been told that I can deduct the mortgage interest I pay on the home in Canada from my US taxes. Is this correct?

Thanks!

I think it depends on where your tax home is as well.
Steve.
