They don't need word-by-word translation; they do need credential evaluation indeed... and they (mistakenly) put into report "translation"...

Diploma is translated as Diploma indeed... and Degree is evaluated as double-PhD... Computer Sciences :D + Mathematical Economics...

As I said, if you want to get further into US immigration, you will need a translation. i'm talking I-140 and Green card here.

Seriously, for soemone who has been absolute failure at getting anywhere at the border, you would do better to listen a little more and argue less. You would not have a denial on your record had you followed this advice earlier.

My understanding of "translation" is "certified translation from Russian into English" which I have, and Diplom is translated as Diploma, word-to-word.

My understanding of "credential evaluation" is "his diploma is equal to Bachelor degree in Science in U.S." which I also have.

Sorry, I can't understand what "degree translation" means...

BTW, major reason of TN Rejection was Letter of Employment not listing explicitly Computer Systems Analyst related duties, and me not realizing that programmers (or developers) do not belong to that category.

Minor issue was that I didn't have original of evaluation report with me; I only had PDF sent to me via Email from accredited institution (24-hours rush service) which I printed (on photo paper).

Most of us who have gone on to immigrate to US, thru the PERM, I-140 and AOS process, have had to submit a transcript of our records. My degree is in English and so is my transcript, so they can read what it says.

Your transcript may not be so easy to read. As I said earlier, the transcript translation is for FUTURE immigration purpose, not for TN.

Obvioulsy you are not going to get a copy of your transcript translated this weekend for use at the border for TN. This is meant as a gentle nudge to get this done at your leisure rather than later when you get a 60-day letter demanding an english version of your transcript.

You'll find that sticking to your guns, and to your definitions will not get you far with US immigration -- I think you've found that already, no?

Major reason was "staffing company" and "web UI developer".
Have read my post?
Employment Letter was less than pleasant at the border.
They did a favour for me providing I-275 with additional page with e lot of details. Because indirect client is Government of U.S.
I forwarded copy to them; they have to hire better lawyer.

Anyway, I decided not to go there. I can't have a deal with such stupid people...

I applied for Transcript, ICAS Canada will send a letter to Ministry of Education of Russian Federation on my behalf; it usually takes 1-2-3 months (what it will be in my case? I gor degree 20 years ago...)

And, I don't want to immigrate. My company already has 3 clients in U.S. My employees go there frequently.
May be I'll go there too, business trip. Different client.
