Degree for TN1

Post Wed Aug 24, 2011 3:55 am

I have 15 years experience but do not have degree in computer science. I have good job offer from well know USA company as system analyst. After doing some research I found that getting TN1 under system analyst without computer science degree is difficult. I am going to reuest HR to give letter so that I can apply under Management consultant as suggested by some close friend.

I am 35 years old and planning to study computer science so if I do not get this time I will get after this degree.

I am trying to find value for money course which can enable me for TN1 visa.

MVC's consult, they don't do the work, and they are strictly temporary.

My experience- I'm currently working in the US with a TN as a CSA. I have a history degree from McGill, but I have 17 years experience in the industry (as the officer at the Peace Bridge pointed out, any CS degree earned in 1988 would be pretty damn useless by now- he clearly said to me A degree was required, not necessarily a CS degree). What I did do to bolster my case was my employer wrote a glowing letter address to the DHS raving about how much they needed me. I also collected many letters of recommendation/acknowledgement from former supervisors and clients attesting to my skills as a CSA. When all was said and done, I fit the bill and got the TN.
