Degree in Corporate Finance

Post Sun Aug 09, 2009 2:19 pm

Hi there!!!

I have just completed a graduate degree in Corporate Finance from a Canadian university and I want to work in the U.S under a TN visa, I would like to know if this degree would be sufficient for me to qualify in the accountant category, technically, corporate finance is a major field in accounting, but would the INS recognize that? Does anyone have an answer to that question? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

Jay.

"Accountant
Baccalaureate or Licenciatura degree; or C.P.A., C.A., C.G.A., or C.M.A."

Although the degree requirement isn't specific on the NAFTA list under Accountant, you should technically have a degree in accounting but your finance degree may work. Maybe getting your CPA, CGA..etc,etc would help the process of sucessfully geting your TN.
