Not necessarily, I think it's over a gram or an ounce before you're in real trouble, but the real sticky point is "a crime involving moral turpitude", which can mean a whole raft of criminal offenses and it's not always clear what it includes. Obviously it includes any sort of violent criminal offence but other than that it's not obvious to a layman what it includes.

I agree with Angela - take a day trip and try the waters. Our son in Toronto was assulted by a guy that fled to the US. Years later that guy flew into Toronto to go fishing with friends and was stopped at the airport and thrown into jail - better to know ahead before you spend money you cannot recoup. L.
