Do canadians living in US pay Taxes to government of Canada?

I have a similar dilemma. My husband and I moved to the US last April for work with a TN Visas. We worked for 4 months and due to family illness and job offers back home we had to return home to Canada. We sold our Canadian house several months before we left for the US, and lived with my parents for a few months. I have no idea what to do about our taxes this year. Do I need to file in the US and Canada. We were only working for about 12-14 weeks before we had to return. Can I claim the move home? I didn't get any paper work from the US or my employer down there... any advice?

Unforetuantely, your time outside Canbada was so short that you never became non-resident.

So you need to file your US wages omn a 1040NR, and you need tro file everything (including US wages) on your normal Cdn return. You will get credit for the US tax you pay.

Can I claim the move to the US for work on the US taxes? And can I claim the move back home for work on my Canadian taxes? Do You think that I am going to have to pay in because I wasn't there very long? I don't care if I get any money back, I'm just very nervous that I will have to pay!
