I know this is -positively ridiculous- to ask because there are so many posts on it, but at the moment, I'm stressing like crazy because I was just informed I have to move a month earlier than I had o...

Sounds like you are well prepared OzzyKel.

The only thing, and I could be wrong here. But if you are applying through the Toronto VAC, you don't send the papers to Ottawa. You bring them with you to the Visa Application Centre. Toronto is the only Centre that sends the paperwork to Ottawa themselves.

At least, that is what we did.

Oh THANK YOU!

So the VAC appointment is where I have the fingerprints done AND I also bring all my paperwork there? Do I have some sort of meeting with someone there?

Is all this information outlined at the end of the application.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. I'm so nervous.

I'm not sure where the info is outlined but its somewhere online. anyways, if you're submitting everything in Toronto then, yes, they will mail it all for you and take your biometrics. I was there today and waited FOREVER for the biometrics. Everyone was really nice and fairly helpful but they were backlogged or something so I submitted my paperwork but had to wait over an hour for the biometrics. Also, its a little difficult to find. Enter from Yonge and Dundas (the Sears/H&M entrance) and you will see a doorway on your right where you can access the elevators to the 25th flr.

I'm so nervous awaiting a reply!

Oh and yes, you do have to make an appointment with Worldbridge online- they send you the link to make the appointment when you submit your online application. They're 15 minute time spans but like I said, I was there for about an hour and a half so don't plan to go on your lunch hour if you have to get back to work like I did!

OzzyKel,

They do also look for you to prove a few other things with supporting documentation:

-evidence that there will be adequate accommodation for you in the UK (e.g. rental agreement, or a letter from a friend/family/partner saying you can live with them)
-evidence that you will be adequately maintained without recourse to public funds in the UK (e.g. recent bank statements, letter of intent to look for work, etc).

Hope that helps!

Oh thank you!

I will be staying with my cousin rent free. So he should write a letter then? Is an email ok? He would include contact information to get ahold of him.

How do I "prove" that I am job searching? Should I just sign up with a recruiting agency?

I have MAYBE $1000 on a good day in my bank account. Will this be ok?

Sorry for the million questions.you are all helping me out SO much and I really appreciate it! I've got no one to ask. THANK YOU!
