I know this is -positively ridiculous- to ask because there are so many posts on it, but at the moment, I'm stressing like crazy because I was just informed I have to move a month earlier than I had o...

I just got approved! Thanks everyone for all of the great advice.

I also got my photos stamped. I think to be safe, you should just get them done at a place that takes passport photos and they stamptthem for you. Its only about $15, probably worth it rather than worrying.

Good luck to everyone!

Actually, when I got mine done I was told -nothing- is allowed to be on the back, so there was no stamp, no writing, no anything. I guess they're not enforcing it--I was approved just fine without anything on the back of mine.

And also, I don't think they need to be dated for the whole 6 month thing, since at the biometrics the person there will be looking at you and can decide themselves whether the picture doesn't look like your likeness.

PS ~ Here's a warning, 'cause I didn't know, The picture that is being taken is going to be put ON THE STICKER IN YOUR PASSPORT. so if you want it to not look hideous, ask them for a redo. Mine looks weird, but my friend and I have this theory that they spilled something on it once it got there. Aw well. I gotta get a new one in 3 years anyway!

Come to think of it I don't think they even looked at the back of the photo. You're right Tigerlea, if they are seeing you in person than they can judge whether or not the photo looks ok.

Yikes, not excited to have THAT picture pasted in my passport lol.

I went for my biometric's appointment this week and I had everything in order except my long form birth cert. I, nor my mother, had ever seen this before. I figured the card size birth cert would be good enough.

THANK GOODNESS I live in Toronto so I just ran over to College park and paid the rush fee of $65 and got mine in 3 days.

But that was a very stressful 3 days.

Now I have to sent all the paperwork to Ottawa myself.
Still a little stressed but I believe I have everything in order.

What Visa are you applying for Ozzy? I'm glad you were able to get the certificate in 3 days. That helps alot.

Just on a side note, my b/f applied for the settlement visa through unmarried partner, and i know for a fact he didn't have a birth certificate in his, He got approved over the weekend.

But you are most likely applying for a different visa. Plus, it is always better to have all the documents, even the ones you don't need. Then to be missing something.

OH SORRY! THE long form birth cert is for ancestry visa. It is the only birth cert that shows the link between your uk parent and you.

I'm sure you don't need it for other visas.
