Do I have to have a hostel card

Hey Everybody

I'm totally new to staying in hostels in Europe. Do I have to have a type of hostel card to stay in hostels in spain or will they just charge a few bucks extra if I don't have one? Do you recommend that I get one? :) I will only be in Spain for 2 weeks.
