Do I qualify for dual citizenship?

Post Wed Apr 23, 2008 11:31 am

Need some help with this one guys. I wanted to know if there was a way to get a dual citizenship for England. I have recently married a british citizen in England last year. We have since moved here to canada where i am from. We are wanting to start a family soon and we will be getting our child a dual citizenship. What can I do? and how does it work? is it possible?

many thanks!

No, for your situation, you will need to live in the UK in order to gain citizenship. As a spouse, you are eligible to move with your husband and work: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/ukres ... dchildren/

After 3 years, you will be eligible to apply for citizenship.

This page should help about citizenship for children: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... shcitizen/
