You're a Canadian citizen, so you can just move back no problem. You will have to sponsor your husband for permanent residency, and you can do that from the US. It would take about 6 months maybe.

see http://roadtocanada.com for information on immigrating to Canada and sponsoring your husband. Don't apply in-land though! That'll take about 18 months to 24 months. Out-land takes only about 6 months.

If you qualify for US citizenship it might be a good idea to apply for that before you move back, so if you change your mind later on you can move back to the US.

Hi Reba....I have been living in GA for 10 years now (I am Canadian) and moved to the US for love (I am married to an American). We now have 3 kids and I REALLY want to move back to Canada. I know exactly what you mean about the quality of life being better in Canada than here....there is soo much crime and I don't to raise my kids here. I just read that I cannot owe any money to the Canadian Govt. in order to sponser my family into the country (I am still paying on my Canadian student loan and owe $18000)......I was wondering if my family who are all in Canada can sponser my husband and kids. We want to moce to Ottawa and find jobs (How can I prove also that I can support my family for three years when I do not have the job yet?).....I am so frustrated!!! We are not getting any younger here!! Thanks!!

Hi there,

I am from Montreal and was relocated to Minnesota a year ago. I miss home (Canada).

Prior to moving here, I was in a long distance relationship with a woman from Vermont. The drive was about 2 hours from Montreal and we had been going back & forth for just over two years. So we saw this move to Minnesota as a salvation, an opportunity, and an answer to finally living together. Well, its been a very tough year and we both have been suffering from "homesickness" very very badly.

Minnesota is a very clean state and there are very neat and fun things to do. However, the culture is nearly impossible to break into - especially if you were not born & raised here.

Needless to say that we are moving back "home." Sadly, that means splitting apart again for my fiance and I but I would rather be happy and 2 hrs apart then miserable and depressed in Minnesota.

I am a dual citizen to Canada & the USA (born in Canada) and have always wanted to live in the USA, but I got to be honest...I do believe life in Canada is alot better. Sure there are alot of conveniences in the USA (i.e. shopping, nice neighborhoods, and low taxes) but there is something missing. CANADA ROCKS EH!

Counting the days until we move....15 to go!

I'm living in berlin too and there are a few jobs here but they tax you A LOT! I'd like to go back but enjoying it here at the moment. Although not looking forward to freezing weather here this winter without the prospect of getting to snowboard in the mountains. I miss that!!
