Does the IRS collect Canadian taxes from before US residency

If I owe rev canada money from a tax year that I was a Canadian resident but now live in the US permanently does the IRS have the power to collect the debt, and more importantly will they? This relates to a tax year before I moved to the US and was at the time a Canadian resident.

Also does anyone have any suggestions on how to 'settle' a debt with Rev Canada when one no longer lives there....is there a way to get the amount reduced?

IRS will rarely collect for CRA. However they will provide information on you to CRA for CRA to go after you.

Call them up and find out.

I am going IRS but was just curious if they would even get involved because the time period this relates to is a time when I lived in CAN and was a citizen(nothing to do with US)...since that time I have moved and taken permanent residence in the US. This assessment is not in any way related to the US nor was I in any way involved in the US at that time...I do understand that they exchange information but find it hard to believe they, RC, could collect on this.

If you owe to CRA, they can collect anywhere anytime.

IRS will help. But CRA doesn't need their help.
