Does this job go under NAFTA?

Hi again,

I'm looking in getting a TN myself and wanted to know if this job would fit under NAFTA. Any advice is great. If it does fit, which one would it go under? I have a BA in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology

Could be a vocational Counselor, but would need to know more about what you would be doing.

That's what I thought initially but doesn't Vocational Counselor help their clients seek employment?

They also have this job which I be more interested in doing. Bottom line is I want to help people, have the credentials and would want to know which one would suit better for a TN... Once I get the experience, I would come back to Canada and possibly run my own non profit centre.

This one would be more Vocational right?

I don't understand what you are doing. Are you just trying to find a TN category to get into the USA or are you trying to find a job that you are qualified for that is in the TN list? Which one?

Sounds like a social worker to me, which is a NAFTA category. Read this: http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos060.htm and see if what you want to do fits that definition.

"What I am doing" is weighing my options in regard to the positions. I know I am qualified so I don't need to pull any strings to try and get into U.S.A. I'm being considered for the case manager actually and wanted to know if it fit under nafta. If all else fails then I would aply for the other position.

Thanx for your reply Steven. I actually look under both vocational counselor and social worker for both positions and I'm not sure which one fits under it. The company doesn't know either because they aren't familiar with TN's so I'm doing the research for them. They are willing to create the job letter for me but I just want to make sure its the right catgory.
