Driver licence

Post Tue Sep 14, 2010 6:02 am

I just moved to US for good. I have a valid Canadian driver license. After I received my SSN I suppose to go and apply for Florida driver license. Does anybody knows if I have to go for a driving test or they just convert my Canadian driver license to Florida driver license.

Yes, the Florida DMV knows.

I had no trouble in Texas, they just took my Quebec license and issued me a Texas one with no tests except the vision check.

That being said, the answer is to look for the Florida DMV website, or better yet call them, because Canadians are regarded as good drivers and Canada's road rules line up well with the States (along with certain other countries) and you may be able to avoid being re-tested as I was.
