How long do you plan to be in Ontario with the Florida plates?

We've had this thread lots of times, depends basically on the mood of CBSA and CBP. CBSA may think you are importing the vehicle, in which case you need to comply with the importation rules as spelt out at www.riv.ca

CBP may think you're exporting it, which means you also have to declare it and make an appointment to do so.

When you go back, USCIS may think you do not have "non-immigrant intent" because the car has US plates on it which means they think you live there permanently.

It appears to be entirely subjective. A lot of "may" in there.

Certainly people have done what you're thinking of without a problem, but some people have had problems too.

To be honest I think your best bet is to actually call the POE you intend to use and ask CBSA and CBP what they think, or at least get hold of the local CBSA office and the local CBP office in Florida and ask them.
