Driving on a Manitoba driver license in Germany?

Post Thu May 29, 2008 3:37 pm

Hi there,
I am heading to Germany this summer and a friend has offered that I can use her car to tour around. (HUGE blessing!) I am wondering if I will have to get an international driver's license or will my Manitoba license suffice?
If anyone can give me the heads up, that would be great!

Your driver's license is fine. there's no such things as an international drivers license needed. Although you should go to the CAA and get a document that states the information of your drivers license in multiple languages. It's about 20$ if I remember correctly and it will be of great help if you get arrested. Not sure if it's mandatory to have but I highly suggest. better be prepare than sorry.

There is such a thing as an international drivers license, and I know that it isn't valid in all European Countries, and likewise, not all European licenses are valid in Canada.
