E2 Visa

Post Sat Jul 07, 2007 10:35 pm

I was wondering how easy it might be to obtain an E2 visa? According to what I read, it involves you investing in a US business with atleast $25,000. I think there has to be a catch to this or maybe not? $25,000 does not seem to be alot.and Im guessing if you can open a Subway franchise or something down there, does that qualify you for an E2? Im guessing a Subway requires around $200k or even something small like a donut store? Any help on the E2 visa would be much appreciated.

Here's a tip for ya.keep your money in Canada!

No idea about Subway, but I'm guessing they're not cheap. Donut shops require somewhere around a million dollars in liquid assets in the bank before they'll even talk to you (Dunkin and Tim Horton's, no idea about the evil KK).

The fast food industry down here is really No Fun at all! And you're not going to make much money at it, unless you've got a tonne of money to throw at it to start out with. Which, by your post, I'm guessing you don't.

The least expensive fast food franchise opportunity in the US is probably Domino's Pizza. My hubby was going to buy one, and we've both worked at Domino's previously, he was a GM for several years and knew the business well. Then he decided against it for various reasons.

I will let you know however, that Most franchise opportunities require that you work as a grunt, then at a management level for a set period of time before they'll consider you for a Franchisee. And its not easy work by any means!
