Can it be on a part-time basis?

Part-time is probably fine. You need to be paid for a year.

Hey guys wasnt sure where to post this, but here goes.

I've been getting many interviews to become an Online Community Manager for companies in the US. It's a business role, and I consult companies on how to manage their web presence of companies, find new ways for them the grow their business online via social media/web 2.0 strategies etc. I'm wondering if that would make it under the management consultant section of the TN1 application.

Things to consider:
- My degree isn't in business, but in Industrial Engineering, which is the management side of engineering, but I did my minor in Business Marketing and Communications. I did go to an American college though.
- My school hasn't sent me my degree just yet, since I only graduated a few weeks ago. Will taking a completed transcript work? Or a letter saying that I have graduated.
- They would be offering me a full-time job
- I hear some POE's are more strict than others. I'm from Edmonton, is that airport considered a hassle-free POE?
- Is it wise to spend money on the TN1 Visa Package and lawyer advice?

Thanks in advance.

If you went to an american university, you should qualify for employment authorization under OPT for 14 months (I think it's 14 months). While authorized you can apply for an H-1B in april. I do not think that the cap for H-1Bs will be filled right away, so you should be able to get it and be working on a 3 year H-1B by the time your OPT expires.

Unfortunately, to work under OPT the job has to be directly associated with my major (and not minor), so that isn't an option for me.

Keep in mind the ST's are a little more difficult to get due to the additional scrutiny both Management Consultants and Scientific Technicians receive at the port of entry.

Ok i have always heard how difficult it is to get a MC, especially from these boards, i think its the same with every category until the case itself is fraudulent.

I got my 4th MC TN this time for 3 years same company no questions asked like always. One could say i got lucky but how do you get lucky 4 times in 4 years with 4 different officers?

Make sure your papers are in order, make sure your degrees are original, make sure your letter is solid.
