Eligible to apply for work visa?

I am a Canadian citizen who will move to USA on a P4 visa. While in the US, will I be eligible to apply for a work visa?

The P4 visa is a non-immigrant US family visas issued to the immediate family members of P-1, P-2 and P-3 status holders. In general, this visa allows the spouse and unmarried children below 21 years of the principal P visa holders to enter and remain in the US.

Study and Employment:
The P4 visa holder can attend any full time or part time school. But, if the visa holder wishes to do any job, he/she must change or “adjust status” to obtain a temporary work visa. To be exact, an individual holding P-4 dependent visa status cannot accept any employment in the US.

Hope this helps!
