Emigration to EU

Hello fellow Canucks. I just want to confirm whether Canadians holding EU member country citizenships can move to and work in any of the EU countries. My husband and I both have dual citizenship. If yes, can we really just up and go? Buy a house, whatever... even without immediate job prospects? Thanks in advance
