Hi..I looked into the program quite a lot as it sounded interesting. A friend of mine participated and loved it! Great food great people. The problem that my husband and I realized we would face is the LATE nights. If you go to the Vaughn website, they give you a quite detailed daily schedule. It involves staying up , talking away , till at least midnight every night. We absolutely could not handle the schedule. But a lot of people can! Also on their site, there is a LONG list of former participants whom you can contact.

A friend and his wife (50 ) have been regular visitors to Vaughn Village(s) over several years. They love the experience and seem committed to continue. This is a pretty strong endorsement.
.they won't remember what you said;
.they won't remember what you did;
but everyone will remember how you made them feel!

A few years ago I participated in a Vaughan Village program. In response to tigershark, it IS tiring to participate. It's not a relaxing vacation. Something different altogether.

However, the "social activities" that go from 10 pm till midnight are not required. You can stumble back to bed like a true non-european with no one blinking.

It IS awe-inspiring to see how long these locals can go on and on. I've thought about it for a long time, and then it hit me: they drink coffee all day long. Not regular "American" coffee, but expresso-type coffee. It's got to have an effect on their energy level late into the evening.

I've been contemplating a return visit and have come to the conclusion that I would drink coffee like a local.

Also remember the program allows for a break between 3:30 and 5 pm... a time when you can certainly have a siesta to catch up your energy level.

DO IT! It's a great experience!
