Entry after TN is over

Post Fri Jul 15, 2011 6:30 pm

I would like to know if anyone has experience getting back into the US immediately following the expiry of a TN. I am currently on a TN for 6 months and have an unpaid volunteering opportunity that I normally would be able to do no problem (entry as a tourist I believe) but I feel that because I have been here living on a TN already, they will not allow me to turn around and re-enter for a number of months as a tourist. Any advice based on experience?????? THANKS!

As long as you have re-established residency in Canada you should be let back in. The first step is to hand in your TN when you leave to the Cdn officer, and then get a place in Canada, having this proof (utilty bills, lease) when you cross back.
