Eurail Pass and Weather

Eurail Pass and Weather

Hi all,

I have a couple of more questions regarding Europe. I've been told from the travel agency that although you have a rail pass, you still have to reserve your tickets ahead of times in some cases? How early should you buy your tickets in order to get a seat. I think with the Eurail pass it's only good for economy class seating? I'd hate to think that I wasn't able to get a seat on the train and then not make it to the next country where I booked a place to stay.

Also with weather, what's the weather generally like there in the May? Is it warmer than in Canada? I would assume it would be hotter in Italy and Spain.

Thanks a bunch,
Karen

Heya,

For sure it'll be warmer in the south.

As far as making resrevations - it depends on where you're going and when. Trains on weekends tend to fill up quickly. I'd say that once you know you're going somewhere, get the reservation first thing. A day or two before shouldn't be a problem. It's happened a few times where I got stuck somewhere for an extra day, but it's not too bad. Usually when I arrive in a city, before I go to the hostel, I pick up my next train reservation right away so I don't have to worry about it. That is, if I've already decided on how long I want to spend in a given place.

You'll be fine :)
