EuroTrip '07- Preliminary Plans

Post Sat Dec 09, 2006 7:09 pm

Hi,

A few friends and I are planning to head off backpacking in europe next May for about a month. This would be our first time backpacking, and any advice and tips would be great.

I was thinking of flying into London to get the cheapest flight available to Europe and then rail it over to france. We were thinking of starting out west (ie France or Spain) and then working our way through western europe and ending in greece. Some countries we'd like to visit are france, spain, germany, switzerland or austria holland, italy, greece. Does that seem reasonable for a month? The plan would be to mostly check out the capitals and stay a few days in each country. Which countries would need more than a few days to see?

Also in terms of cost: I was thinking about $3000-$4000. Does that seem reasonable?

I'll probably end up posting more questions as the date gets closer.

Thanks a bunch

Tips for your trip

Your budget sounds fine to me, especially if you are careful and save on accommdation as that is where most of your money seems to go when travelling around Europe. To find cheap but decent places to stay in Spain, check out the following web sites:

Have fun!

Yeah, that's a very reasonable budget! Should allow you to do a lot of stuff, especially if you're only there for a month.
