DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE FILM FESTIVAL:
FINAL LINE-UP ANNOUNCED

American independents are coming to the Capital. From 1st to 7thJune 2007, a selection of films which have graced the screens of major film festivals such as Sundance, Toronto, Tribeca, South-by-South-West and the American Film Institute will be shown at two venues in the heart of Central London.

The Declaration of Independence Film Festival will offer Londoners the chance to see original and exciting films from the USA and Canada for the first time, with seventeen international premieres being screened.

The festival offers feature films with an independent spirit, such as Sweet Land (Dir: Ali Selim) with Alan Cumming and Alex Kingston, winner of the 2007 Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature. Everything’s Gone Green (Dir: Paul Fox), a sublime and witty Vancouver-set comedy, the screenwriting debut of Generation X author Douglas Coupland. Flannel Pajamas (Dir: Jeff Lipsky) an intimate and brutally honest portrait of a relationship with Julianne Nicholson and Justin Kirk. Man In The Chair (Dir: Michael Schroeder) a multi-award winning feature that fires on every level - visually inventive, tough-minded, sincere and full of heart, featuring a wicked sense of humour and stand-out performances from Christopher Plummer and Michael Angarano.

There are also ground breaking documentaries on controversial subjects such as US pharmaceutical companies, living with AIDS and the war on terror, alongside a selection of diverse short film programmes.

The festival will take place at the Renoir Cinema and the nearby alternative arts venue, the Horse Hospital in Bloomsbury.
