Hope you can get a hold the embassy soon. Pretty lame they won't pick up the phone. Do they have really limited working hours?

Some embassies are like that. Where I was in North Africa, the embassy was only open these certain mornings (and not even the whole morning) and then alternate certain afternoons (again only a few hours at a time). From what I heard it was easier to get a "western experience" by just tagging along with an American friend when they went to an event at their embassy! Kinda sad, but, on the flip side I was much more embraced by the locals than my American friends.

I worked in Russia more than 2 years (until recently) and I traveled everywhere from Murmansk to Vladivostok. If you want some info just ask Smile

I've been in Odessa for about 3 months and haven't met any other expats, just wondering if I'm all alone here. Any Canadian or US expats that want to get together for a drink, drop me a line.

Wow, it looks like this forum is pretty dead but I'll try to breathe some new life into it. I just found and (immediately) joined this site today. My brother and I are hanging out here in Ivano-Frankivsk doing a little teaching from time to time. So is there anybody out here in the west?
