exporting dogs from Vancouver to Sydney

Post Sun Dec 11, 2011 9:55 am

Pending getting our visa I am starting to get our two dogs ready for the move from Vancouver to Sydney. I have two questions:

Does anyone have recommendations for their travel - doing it ourself through Air Canada or getting a pet travel company to do it. Can anyone recommend a pet travel company?

Now my second question and the most important. I am worried sick about how the flight might stress them out and also how the dogs handle quarantine. I would rather not leave Canada if I think my girls (they are big dogs) will be adversely affected in anyway.

Any other comments/advice you have on your experiences with moving dogs would be welcomed.

Thanks.

Hi there,

We just did this flight with our dogs in August :)
We did it ourselves through Air Canada, the trick was to be vigilent on vaccinations and titers!
Our dogs are huge, and one is very nervous. Quarantine were great, and we also used Pet Amigos to walk them as well...Air Canada also were fantastic. They got through fine, and they have been here in Brisbane with us since :)
