Extending a WHM

Extending a WHM

Hello,
I'm currently in the UK (Scotland to be precise) and I have a job at the City Council in Edinburgh. I'm looking to extend my WHM so that I can work longer than a year (with the hopes of extending it to remain).
Can anyone offer ANY advice? I've contacted the Border Agency but have heard nothing back from them.
Cheers.

You can't extend a WHM. You can apply for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 permit, if you qualify.

As the previous poster said, you can't extend a WHM.

You should look at a Tier 1 visa - it's a point-based system that will look at various things - your current level of income, university education, etc. There are lots of "points calculators" on the Net right now so you can see if you could qualify.

No matter what visa you apply for to stay, you're going to have to leave the country whilst the application is being processed. It sucks but that's the rules.
