Family member bring personal effects

I'm going to the USA for a year on a TN Status. I'm flying very soon. Can a family member bring some of my personal effects by van to me? Is there paper work I need to provide for them to get through the border?

You only need something official if it's unaccompanied, CBP Form 3299 or if it's something subject to control, e.g. firearms.

Otherwise it's just a packing list.

CBP are pretty laid back about people taking personal effects into the US in my experience, it's bringing them into Canada which is more complex.

I can't find a comprehensive online description of the packing list. Is there a website that describes exactly what the customs people want to see in a packing list? I'd like to know what are acceptable personal effects, how detailed the list needs to be, etc. Thanks!

Basic list like a shopping list, name, item, quantity, approx. value.

Personal effects they barely glance at imx. They might get the dog to sniff them.
