Family wants to relocate to Scotland and need direction

This is our first post

My husband and I would like to relocate to Scotland for one year with our 2 young children for a year! We have no idea where to start! Can any canuks please point us in the right direction

My paternal grandfather was born in London, so we heard that may mean we don`t need to be sponsored? Is this true?

Here are my questions...any help would be very very appreciated

1. Are there many jobs in IT field in Scotland, and if so, is there ever 1 year terms?
2. Do we find a job before getting there?
3. How long does it take to get all the paperwork in order once you have dertimed to go?
