so, i stopped by my house in michigan for the first time in 6 monthes today, and am weeding through some mail that had not been picked up. amongst the credit card offers and misc. statements i find a letter from 'Office of the Settlement Administrator' regarding a settlement from a lawsuit of the FTC -vs- USA Immigration Services.
I am not sure the details of the lawsuit other then that which was included in the letter referencing the OLD green card lottery (not sure if still exists or what is the deal). i apparently paid for green card lottery assistance services that turned out to be fraudulent. the only time i would think this could be possible was when i applied through an old company, I think they tried the 'lottery' for cost purposes.
included in the letter was a settlement check for: $18.65
anyone else get this? I am still looking for the statement 'once you cash this check you will be automatically enrolled in the pension bankruptcy insurance plan for 16.95 per month'
website which i will look at once i press submit
