Hi. I was wondering if there are any finance related professionals (portfolio manager, financial advisors, Financial Analysts, financial managers, etc) or anyone else for that matter who can let me know if its easy for Finance related professionals to get jobs in the US (Im Canadian). I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it is hard?

Check out the other dozens of threads regarding TN visas and look to see if you're qualified. If you are, just start looking for a job, and try to find a company willing to sponsor you. *That's* the hard part.

Any job openings by law have to be offered up to legal American citizens/permanent residents in the country first. Only then, after a company has determined it can find no one qualified to do the job in the US, do they start looking outside the borders.

Check the usual places on the internet like monster.com and newspapers for whereever you want to go.

The TN visa is an easy visa to obtain - if you qualify and are prepared. Being prepared means to ensure your application is valid and you are prepared for the border process.

To win an employer is also not difficult if you understand the TN Visa application process and can explain it to the employer so their concerns are addressed.

Most employers think of the H1-B Visa (expensive, time consuming, etc) -- so when you can clearly explain how the TN Visa is a simple visa to obtain the cost is $56 - the employer will be very interested -- especially if he sees you as a valuable asset from your interview.

Most of our customers, read our do it yourself kit for the TN Visa, and then explain it to the employer - and prepare their TN Visa Application with their employer within several days.

Good Luck!

Also, for the TN visa, there is no requirement that the company proves no American qualifies for the position.

Reba, what on earth are you talking about!?

There is no need to offer temporary jobs to anyone. That is the whole point of TN and H1 and L1 amongst a whole list of foreign NON-immigrant worker categories.

Only when sponsoring the worker for Permanent residence is it then required to determine that no US worker was ready, willing and able to fill the position. That is the labour certification process (or PERM), and is only part of the Green card process, not TN nor any other non-immigrant status.

sorry, I was told otherwise, as I'd previously posted. If that is incorrect, my apologies. I'm not an immigration lawyer, I'm just a Canadian down here on a spousal visa Smile Employment visas are not my forte.
