finding a place to rent

Hello again!
So by the looks of it there aren't many, if any Canadian's who are living in York. If that's the case, would anyone be able to help me out in another way - what is the best way to go about finding a place to rent? I would want to rent with someone around my age and hopefully near the city centre. Would it be best to just look at a local paper?
