Finding work in Scotland

Hi there!

I'm moving to the UK in July and was wondering where the best locations would be to look for work in Scotland. I have my EU passport and am a journalist with lots of graphic design experience.

Should I register with a temp agency before I go or just wait until I arrive?

Also, since I will be going with a significant amount of money, will I be able to rent an apartment right away without a job?
