For anyone wanting to move to Newcastle Upon Tyne

Post Sun Apr 22, 2007 7:10 am

Hello,

My wife and I will be moving back to Canada in Mid-Late July and are currently living in Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne in county Tyne and Wear.

Our rent is 700 pounds/month and is a very nice fully furnished 2 bedroom flat with 3 bathrooms, laminate hardwood throughout, and stainless appliances. It is the perfect place if you don't own a vehicle because you can fly into Newcastle, hop on the metro for 10 min, and we are a 50m dash from a metro station. You do get 2 parking spaces as well. We have a golf course a block away, an ASDA (a subsidiary of Walmart and equivalent to a Superstore) 100m away, and are a 5 min walk from restaurants & businesses of Gosforth High Street.

We have acquired quite a bit of stuff like TV&DVD player, vacuum, wireless router w/ VOIP, BBQ, bedding, kitchen appliances (blender, espresso machine, toaster, microwave, pots&pans, spices etc). I thought I'd post it here first and see if anyone was interested before I start selling stuff on ebay. Even if you already have figured out a place to stay, we are looking to get rid of all of our stuff at a bargain.

Believe me when I say that walking into a place that has everything you need as well as our experience in getting setup and traveling in this country, will save you serious money and pain. We have also retained services of accountants and are well aware of all the taxation BS. In retrospect, I would not have refused an offer like this.

Newcastle is a centre of about 1,000,000 people (counting surrounding suburbs) and has alot of opportunity. It is along a main railroad artery and has a fairly large airport to fly from. 2 rivers run through it, the River Tyne and the River Wear.

Please let me know if you are interested. I could email you pics of our place and the city if there is interest.

Thanks!

My partner and I are moving to Newcastle July 1st or thereabouts. I'm interested in viewing your place and your pics.

Timestamps are your friends. This original post was done in 2007. It is now 2009.

I'm not sure that it's still valid...

No worries. I once saw on another forum someone who did a response to a thread that was well over 5 years old.

I just didn't want you to be disappointed with no response. :)
