Getting a baby!

Okay, so I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know how you would register a baby that was given to you? I know this might not make sense. I had a friend who is Chinese and lives in China that was "given" an abandonded baby that nobody wanted. They brought her to the police and they said to keep her because she would just end up in an orphanage. My question is, say this happened to me while living abroad, what do I have to do to ensure the child that I am raising can come back home with me?

I have Canadian friends living in Africa who were given a little boy to take care of (by his "legal guardians".) He was an orphan. They fell in love with him and started the adoption process and now they are being charged with child traficing because they didn't follow all the right chanels (thanks to the advice of unqualified and /or crooked lawyers, judges, and agencies). It is a long story, but sufice it to say the baby they love has been taken from them and they are in sorrow and trouble and not because they intentionally did anything illegal (in any country). If you are given a child, I would suggest you be very careful.

Poor this child. You should ask the Council where you live to announce for them first

Oh poor angel, but hey damita98 it make sense, though it's a long process adopting a child. Just please seek legal advice for this one so all things will be smooth. Good luck!
